N.J.’s third major toll highway will raise rates in 2025

The Atlantic City Expressway will follow the footsteps of its two sister highways and increase tolls on Jan. 1, according to the South Jersey Transportation Authority.
Authority officials approved a 2025 budget Wednesday morning that includes a 3% toll increase on the 44-mile cross-Jersey highway. This is the fourth toll increase on the Expressway since September 2020.
The $211.2 million budget consists of a $110.8 million operating budget, a $98.3 million capital project budget to fund major construction and purchases, and a $2.1 million budget to pay debt. The authority, which also runs Atlantic City Airport, had a 2024 budget of $154.8 million.
